Exmouth Regatta 2018

Our club attended Exmouth Gig Rowing Club’s first regatta on the glorious sands of Exmouth seafront in pleasant sunshine. Our initial thoughts of the long race course with a long row to the start line and strong tides did lead to a little apprehension however, this was unfounded.

With a limited number of our members free to attend, most of those that did rowed a number of consecutive races. Our crews rowed against six other Jurassic clubs and achieved some good results. Our overall position at the end of the regatta was 3rd.

When the Exmouth Regatta results had been included into the Jurassic League table, it showed that Portland had improved it’s overall Jurassic League position to 5th.

Thank you Exmouth Gig Rowing Club for an excellent day of racing with good weather and ideal shore location. You should be proud of your first regatta.
