Swanage Regatta 2018

Portland Gig Rowing Club attended Swanage Regatta which was also the inaugural Jurassic League regatta. Clubs gathered on the green overlooking the beach where 11 Gigs, including Pulpit Rock, were ready to participate in the regatta.

The picture above shows our Men’s A team, the brawn of the club, ‘team building’ before their race.

The kite shaped course headed towards Old Harry Rocks and back along the shoreline. The weather and sea state were ideal and our crews rowed well in Pulpit Rock to achieve 6th place gig overall.

At the end of the regatta Portland were in 6th position in the Jurassic League.
