Three Rivers Race 2024
Here we go again, the start of the new regatta season. After a stop start season in 2023 due to the weather, everyone in the gig rowing community were hoping for a better 2024! And despite the bad weather we’ve have had in recent weeks, the weather gods were favourable to us on Sunday 3rd of March for the Three Rivers Race in Saltash. For two years in a row we’ve had good conditions for an event which is has been notorious in past years for taking place whilst the weather was wet and windy.
Two crews, (Men’s A and Ladies A) and Pulpit Rock made the journey down to Cornwall with the ladies going up first to tackle the course. They were in Heat 5 out of 8 and put in an excellent shift finishing 50th out of 98 boats in a time of 1.01:35. After a quick turn around it was the men’s turn, starting off in Heat 6, they too rowed their socks off and finished 46th out of 95 boats in a time of 53:26. Combined results meant Pulpit Rock and PGRC finished 44th out of 93 boats which is a great achievement.
Well done to all those that took part, and big thanks to our cox for the day Darren Howard, Tower Keith Avant and Darrent Trent for the photos(see gallery).
Bring on the rest of the season!
Come on you reds!
