Langstone Regatta 2017

Eight clubs participated in the regatta providing very close, interesting and competitive racing. The course had some tight turns within restricted channels allowing coxes to demonstrate tactical thinking and skills while trying to gain the advantage. Several of our members volunteered to assist with umpiring with one eventually spending all day on the water starting the races and calling turns. Portland ended the regatta in 5th place and maintained 5th position within the Jurassic Regional Gig Rowing League. Well done to all those that represented Portland and a big thank you to Langstone Cutters Gig Club for another excellent regatta.
