Three Rivers Race 2017

Twenty four of our rowers plus supporters went to Saltash for the Three Rivers Race. Our club entered Ladies ‘A’, Ladies ‘B’, Men’s ‘A’ and Men’s ‘B’ teams. This was the first time that our club has entered four teams into the event. The course, as usual, was from the Tamar Road Bridge pulling up the Tamar, into the Tavy, back down the Tamar, into the Lynher and returning up the Tamar to finish at Brunel’s railway bridge. As stated by ‘Gigrower’, whatever the crew, the five mile Three Rivers Race is normally a shock to the system.

Our A teams rowed ‘Pulpit Rock’ and our B teams ‘Chesil’, with 73 ladies crews and 80 men’s crews taking part. Our final results were: Ladies ‘A’ 35th, Men’s ‘A’ 33rd, Ladies ‘B’ 66th, Men’s ‘B’ 61st. The overall combined result was ‘Pulpit Rock’ 31st and ‘Chesil’ 64th. Well done to all competitors and supporters. Thanks to Caradon Gig Rowing Club for another meticulously run regatta.
