Portland Marina ‘Fish and Ships’ 2016

We presented our club to the public, giving a taste of what we do as well as raising funds for the club. The sun came out around midday and the visitors appeared to give a busy afternoon. The rowing machines were popular with the youngsters ‘chasing the fish’ and the gig rowing tasters sessions were popular with adults. Our tombola and Pick a Pin fundraising activities also did well. Our gig ‘Chesil’ stood out well on the hard standing drawing many questions. Unfortunately the weather forecast for Sunday predicted very strong winds with heavy rain in the afternoon. The Marina event organisers had to regrettably cancel the Sunday due to the exposed location of the Marina.Thank you Dean & Reddyhoff for once again allowing us to participate in your event.
