Langstone Regatta 2018
Langstone Regatta was held on a ‘breezy’ day within the channels of Sweare Deep at the north edge of Hayling Island. The tight turns of the course in the restricted channels combined with the strong wind made the racing ‘interesting’ and ensured that coxes had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills.
Our crews, in ‘Pulpit Rock’, pulled hard and raced well achieving some good results, with the men’s B crew finishing 1st in their race. ‘Pulpit Rock’ ended the regatta in 4th position overall of the 9 gigs participating. Portland maintained 5th position within the Jurassic Regional Gig Rowing League. Well done and thank you to all those that represented Portland be it, rowing, coxing, umpiring or supporting. Many thanks to all those involved in organising, running and hosting the regatta for the excellent day.
