Portland Week Paddle Day

Portland Marina held a Portland Week from 19th to 25th August. Wednesday (21st) was designated Paddle Day offering visitors the chance to experience various types of on water paddling, our club was pleased to be invited to attend. With the sun shining and winds light we were able to introduce visitors to Cornish Pilot Gig rowing in our training gigs within the marina, display our wooden gig ‘Pulpit Rock’ rigged for rowing and hold a competition on rowing machines to raise money for the Marina’s chosen charity, Surfers Against Sewage.
