Foilboarder Returned to Shore

Foilboarding, kite foiling, hydrofoil kiteboarding, foil kiteboarding, what is it actually called? We don’t know but we do know that one of the sports participants is grateful to Portland Gig Rowing Club.

One of our  men’s teams was out training early on Sunday 18th February, having completed a long row and by now thinking of the coffee and cake back ashore when they noticed a Foilboarder in the water.  He was quite a distance from shore trying to swim himself and his rig back to shore although the tidal current appeared to be taking him further out. He was helped into the gig and with his rig rowed back to his start point in the vicinity of Billy Winters Cafe.
